Summer Honaker represents a long tradition of classical healing and physical arts. She is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and has over twelve years of study and experience in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her experience includes seven years as Director of the herbal pharmacy in the largest clinic in the U.S. where she had complete responsibility for over 8,000 herbal formulas and more than 10,000 patient visits annually. During that time she completed a five year apprenticeship with Dr. Frank Gibson and the famous Chinese physician, Dr. Qi Chang Zhao.
Since 2001, Ms. Honaker has been an integral part of Precious Wood Farm (www.preciouswoodfarm.com), a 216 acre healing and educational retreat center, high in the mountains of North Carolina. As a Director and instructor, she has presented over 40 seminars and retreats. Ms. Honaker has also assisted in the development and presentation of 131 seminars and retreats with her teacher, Master Frank Gibson.
Ms. Honaker was one of the first practitioners in the Last Call Program (www.thelastcallprogram.com), the most tested and successful alcohol program in the country. Since 2001, she has worked closely with the founder as the program eventually became available on a large scale throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Her training in classical, Chinese physical arts is unique in its pure, traditional nature, and represents a 1,100 year, unbroken succession of Masters. As one of only four inside students, Ms. Honaker is one of only a few Americans to be taught in this manner. Her training includes Shaolin Kung Fu, Yi Jin Jing qi gong, Tang Long, Chinese Dao Yin yoga, T'ai Chi, Tam Toi, and the highly secretive Hua Shan Pai and Shaolin internal qi gong.
Ms. Honaker is certified in qi gong under the Taoist Qi Gong Federation, which is the only traditional Master level authority in the United States. She began competing in Shaolin Kung Fu in 2004 winning every competition. Although Ms. Honaker’s primary focus in now on the internal arts of T’ai Chi Ch’uan, qi gong, and Dao Yin, her martial arts training and highly developed discipline created a foundation for the healing, internal forms of exercise and development experienced by only a few teachers and practitioners.
Summer offers a rare combination of traditional learning, personal involvement with tens of thousands of patients, Board certification in each of her areas of development, developmental teaching, and the ability to transmit her knowledge and experience in a clear, stimulating, and sometimes life-changing manner. As she assists others, she continues her own practice bringing her knowledge and support to all of her students and clients helping them attain the possibility of a balanced life with optimal health.
Ashley Singleton graduated from the University of Kentucky where she earned a degree in Corporate Communications and Business. While living in Lexington, she was introduced to Pure Barre and was instantly hooked. Shortly after college Ms. Singleton moved to Santa Rosa Beach to study with a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine to further explore the field of alternative medicine and living. Ms. Singleton has been a part of and has studied Traditional Chinese disciplines such as traditional Chinese herbology, Chi Gong, meditation and yoga for over four years.
While learning more about healthy living, Ashley opened up and became the youngest ever owner of Pure Barre. Ms. Singleton has been featured in 30A review, Live Love Life 30a, and BeachLife Magazine. With her combined knowledge of both ancient and modern healing arts, Ms. Singleton brings a high level to her clients helping them to find their own best quality of living.
Sarah Rexroat has been surrounded by fashion her entire life. As a child, she would spend hours every day after school at her grandmother's clothing boutique and has been in the fashion world ever since. Over a decade ago she landed her first major job as an assistant buyer at a high-end retail store in Miami. Soon after she met designer Julian Chang and became the PR for his company. When he expanded his business ventures, Ms. Rexroat was named Buyer for the very well known clothing boutique "Steam" traveling coast to coast.
In 2006, Sarah moved to New York City as a personal shopper at Saks Fifth Avenue until two years ago when she struck out and started her own company. She has worked with celebrities such as Liza Minnelli, Blake Lively, Star Jones, Jewel, Molly Sims, and Bruce Springsteen, photo shoots with Victoria Secret and several short films. Sarah Rex experience has led her to be well experienced in helping build the confidence with thousands of happy clients.
